Warsaw is a true phoenix of a city. It was razed to the ground during World War 2 and endured decades of authoritarian oppression. But now it is a thriving, modern city - filled with parks, skyscrapers, robust public transit ... and a lot of history and culture, including Stare Miasto (Old Town). I spent the entire day of August 12, 2024 in Kraków, Poland, experiencing the Old Town and surrounding environs. This is truly and Old World city, with one of the largest open market squares in all of Europe. Enjoy a photographic tour of the classic European & Polish city.

Auschwitz

On August 11, 2024, I spent an afternoon on the hallowed ground of Auschwitz, Poland - the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp. Words cannot express what it was like to be there. I hope this short collection of photos captures the visceral emotions one feels when setting foot there. Most importantly, I hope this serves as a reminder of where the policies of division, vilification, anger, hate, cults of personality lead. As the quote says: "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." This is a humble contribution to that remembrance.
